A+ for cannabis growers
DISCLAIMER: I live in a state where growing marijuana is legal. For those looking to see if this is a good product for germinating cannabis seeds, this is the review for you. Stop using paper towels. The investment to do it right is minimal compared to everything else you've spent to set up your grow. I've had a 100% germination rate using these plugs with the Jump Start CK64050, Germination Station w/Heat Mat and that is with every strain I have tried. First wet the plug and add water to the germination station. Put the seed in the plug, don't push it down deep just open the hole a little and drop it in. Plug in the heat mat (weed tends to like warm root zones), and put the humidity dome on. After that you can just ignore it for 3 days. I say ignore it because you'll go insane if you keep checking on it. The first 2 or 3 days it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Wait for it. On the 3rd or 4th day the magic happens. The seed opens, and unfolds and goes from seed to sprout with starter leaves in the course of just one day. Then a day or two later it's ready to be planted (I use soil, but I think you can put this in a hydro system as well). You NEVER have to touch the seed again or the roots, so you never accidentally damage anything in the transplant, which is a risk people take using the paper towel method. If you're growing good strains, the last thing you need is to damage the plant at the start of its life cycle. Sometimes the plant gets confused as to which way down is, and the root grows up. It's happened to me maybe 4 times. But don't try to fix it yourself. It'll figure it out on its own and bury itself back into the plug. Now obviously I'm not planting 50 cannabis seeds at a time, it's only legal for me to have 6. This product only comes in packs of 50 and that scares some people away. But I've tried other brands that come in smaller quantities and meh, rapid rooter beats them all. Open the bag from the top where the ziplock is. Don't just rip it open. Take out how many plugs you need, ziplock the bag shut, then stick it in a tupperware and they'll stay moist.
