The water quality in my area is terrible. The rating of my hardwater is off the charts. A whole house water softener isn’t currently in our budget so I decided to get some relief by purchasing one of these (been having brittle hair and dry skin). After the first use, I noticed a different immediately in my hair and skin. It’s been a few weeks and i also noticed there’s no hardwater build-up on the shower head like my old one did and my shower no longer has hardwater stains. I haven’t triple checked with a tester strip but from what I see and have experienced, this filter really does it’s job. Update 4/20/20: after 3 months of use, shower head is putting out less water which means the filter is becoming clogged. It was advertised as a 6 month filter but for me it only lasted 3 Months. One downside I experienced Another update: I opened up the shower head and found a bent washer (the black rubber circle) was blocking the water. I removed it and everything is all fine again. Still going strong with the first filter
