Works Great, Not Near as Painful as I Thought. Love It!
This is my first time using an epilator. I hate shaving, and I hate having to do it so often. I found this epilator and decided to give it a try despite the warnings of pain as it rips out the hair. Sounds scary, huh? Anyway I plugged it in, hesitated, and then went for it. I felt it pulling the hair, but was relieved that it was not really painful at all. I mean, it wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't agony either. A few seconds into it, and I just went to town making sure I'd covered every square inch. I actually looked for the "pulling" feeling so that I knew where I had missed. So I honestly don't think it's all that bad. I can't promise everyone else will feel the same way, since I suppose some may be quite sensitive to pain, but I really didn't consider it pain as much as a discomfort. I even took off that dumb cap, as I'm pretty sure it's only there for psychological reasons...it really doesn't do anything in my opinion. It felt and functioned the same with or without. What really matters, is how hard you press the unit to the skin, and even then, it only affected how well it removed the hair and did not give the nicks or cuts that a shaver would. So the results? Afterward I had tiny little red bumps where the hair was removed, but they didn't hurt. I put on some natural lotion (one without alcohols or chemical irritants) and within a few hours, smooth legs. I'll likely start exfoliating in the shower regularly to avoid ingrown hairs. If I can get away with longer periods between hair removal with this as compared to shaving, this is totally worth it.
