I'm in heaven
I debated for a long time about whether or not to buy this product. Have lost 80 lbs so far on keto, but try to stay away from "low carb" products with high total carbs that just add fiber to lower the net carb count, as they tend to bloat me. But alas, I have been desperately craving a biscuit A FLUFFY, CHEWY BISCUIT and I have tried every gosh darn almond flour, coconut flour, oat fiber, xanthan gum, fathead RECIPE and none of them were biscuity. They tried. So, i ultimately decided it was time to treat myself to a "real" biscuit without (most of) the guilt. My tastebuds have changed drastically since quitting sugar, so you may have to take my review with a grain of salt. But for me, I literally can't tell the difference between this and what I remember bisquick to be like. So far, I've only used the mix to make some quick pan biscuits, but was able to sub the mix ALMOST 1:1 for regular flour in my "butter swim biscuits" recipe. I needed to reduce the liquid by about 25%. Y'all. The only con I can really think of is that you're going to get addicted to this stuff because it's basically like having bread again. But if you're familiar with low carb, you probably know that too much of these products can stall your weight loss or give you gut issues. I'm going to try and keep myself from using it for EVERYTHING, and continue making my chaffles and cauliflower pizza crust, reserving the carbquik ONLY for fluffy biscuits and dumplings that I can't make from anything else. From the (rather large) serving that I ate, I did not experience any bathroom issues. But I am a seasoned low carb foodie, so take that how you will.
