At first I almost returned this becasue the highest setting wouldn't stay on long--the fan would start cycling in little controlled bursts, i thought it was the oddest thing. Turns out. I was just using a low powered USB plug meant for charging headphones or whatnot. I grabbed a Samsung "faster charging power" charger i had lying around and the unit worked perfectly. I have this sitting on our dresser top and I aim in at the foot of our bed. I can feel it hit my face about 7 / 8 feet away. The thing gets very cold to where I'll have to turn it off in the middle of the night. It gets hot in our apartment and our AC doesn't make it back to the back bedroom whatsoever. I start tossing and turning from being a few degrees over-heated. I like to be cold to sleep, and I cannot sleep without at least a sheet. I have to have something covering me. So, I aim this thing at my feet, pop a foot out of the sheets when I get too hot, and i'm content as can be. Have tried it at about 77 degrees in the bedroom and this caused me to have to pull actual blankets on--perfect!
