Definitely works
I have an older home- 1970s with terracotta pipe from the house to the sewer and a lot of trees and shrubs. For years I had drainage issues and eventually the whole house backed up resulting in a call to the city to have them check the sewer (always a good idea to make sure it's not a problem on their end before making an expensive plumbing call. The city graciously checked the pipe from my house to the street with a cable camera and told me it was full of "massive" roots, which were clogging the line. They cable broke it up a little and they said I needed to have a plumber cut the roots out. Based on reviews I figured I'd try the root killer first. I first used it about a year ago and then after six months I did a second application. I've not had any back ups since the first use. Today I had a plumber out at the house for something unrelated and figured I'd have him check the pipe with a camera as long as he was out here. I was expecting him to say that I should plan to have the roots cut out professionally, and was ecstatic when he said there were a few small roots coming in the joints, but there was nothing out of the ordinary and certainly nothing that would clog the line. Clearly this works because there is no other explanation for the disappearing roots.
