It really works
I had pretty significant hand surgery on April 2nd. As of a month ago, healing was good; but not what I had hoped. My physical therapist suggested I try silicone sheets and gave me a sample. The silicone sheets rolled up while I slept, needed to be covered by a stockinette, which is not practical during the Central California summer heat and are expensive to replace. I did some research and found this product, which is a silicone tape you place on your scar ... that's all you have to do. You do need to leave it on for about 12 hours at a time (same as the silicone sheets); but, I put it on in the morning and wear it while I work with no issues.
The tape blends with my skin color and you don't really notice it's on. It adheres well and has minor rolling throughout the day. It can get wet, but that does cause the tape to roll a bit more. It's completely flexible and does not prevent me from doing my office/computer work. My scar is 4" long. The tape is perforated at 2", which has not been a problem for me. I use two squares, cut them in half and get two days out of it. I've also cut little pieces of the tape and covered a burn I got on my finger from a curling wand, and has healed just as well. I have not tried to wash and reuse the tape - I use a new one each time.
I have been using the tape for just a few weeks. I do rub the area to break down scar tissue; however, most of my improvement has come from using this product. It's pretty miraculous and if anyone has a scar, I would definitely recommend giving Cica Tape a try.
Update:. The scar continues to fade. Photograph on the left was taken 8/2/2018, exactly 4 months after surgery and 2 weeks since the photo in the middle.
