I ordered the purifier and a pet filter. The filter was back ordered so we go the purifier 2 weeks earlier. When the pet filter arrived I swapped out the original filter for the more expensive pet filter. Despite only having it on for two weeks the crap the original filter sucked out of the air was considerable and disgusting and our place is kept VERY clean. We got it to cut down on allergies and although I can't tell how effective it is vs. medicine and other mitigation efforts, I can say it does an amazing job of scrubbing the air. Also, the night setting very pretty quiet and I am a light sleeper. I could not sleep with the thing on high but during the day on high it is not bad...mild white noise but not so annoying that it would irritate you watching TV. This was a great purchase for us so far.
