I had been toying with the idea of this purchase for about 2 years now. Though it's not overly expensive, I kind of felt like it was an unnecessary luxury. So I've spent years drying my kids boots the old fashioned ways - clothes dryer and heat vents. Listening to the boots clunk around in the dryer is unbearable, and the heat vents really only work if you have a lot of time for the boots to dry before you need them again. I purchased a new dryer a few years ago and was so excited to get the shoe rack with it, only to realize that it does not dry winter boots. I finally caved in and made this purchase. Really glad that I did, and I have used it every day since. It doesn't get so hot that you worry about leaving it unattended, and it dries everything perfectly. My kids boots were really starting to smell like a mixture of mold and stinky feet because they were always damp. Now they dry completely and don't stink anymore. I was a little worried that the airflow would cause the scent to get blown into the air and that I'd be surrounded by the smell of moldy, stinky feet (like how my dryer would stink like really hot rubber and wet, moldy boots), but it doesn't. Would totally recommend!
