Solution for pregnancy nausea / morning sickness!
This is a real, safe solution to pregnancy nausea/ morning sickness. The Vitamin B6 (pyroxidine) can be used in addition to doxylamine succinate. I took 1/2 of this B6 tablet and 1/2 of a 25mg doxylamine succinate tablet at night before bed. Some women will need to increase to a full tablet of each at night. If that doesn’t work you can increase the dosage more, but discuss with your provider. I also quartered(!!) these tablets and the doxylamine and took both small amounts twice during the day to mimic an “extended release”—here’s why. There is a prescription medication known as Diclegis that is a combination of these two medications but in an extended-release form. 60 tablets will run you $421 if you’re paying cash, and if your insurance does cover it (good luck..) you are certain to need a prior authorization. Instead, I opted to put myself on these as mentioned above. I never vomited, and though had periods of time food didn’t sound appetizing, I did NOT GET SICK. I stopped waking up at night feeling the sudden urge to vomit the first night I started them. I continued to take them the entire first trimester just for prevention and it worked. Way better than expected. I know every pregnancy is different, but all of the women in my family get horrible morning sickness, and with this combo I did not. At all. Weeks 6-14 during peak sickness time. Zero. 25mg doxylamine succinate costs about $6-10 on Amazon. The dosage in one Diclegis tablet is 10mg doxylamine and 10mg B6 (pyroxidine). Please see my attached pictures for instructions for the Diclegis and to see it is pregnancy category A and safe for pregnancy.
