UPDATE: I drilled two holes in each footplate and secured with two flat bolts each to fix the footplate in place. There are two corresponding holes in the frame behind footplates to do this as an option. I didn't like the footplate moving with my foot. This is a true water rower. Easy to set up. Super smooth feel on the pulls. Love the sound of the water. Solid piece of equipment. It is the exact design as the brand Waterrower, but without the wood frame parts.
