Worth the addition
It has been working fine so far for 2 months now.
Pro: decent quality, reasonable price, no need to make a hole (This can be attached on top of license plate).
Con: a little bulky, but I don't mind
I also bought a rear-view mirror with small monitor embedded, and connecting with camera through a switch.
I have a small hatchback car 2013 Toyota Prius C, and there had been many situation when I had to load many stuff in trunk and back seat, blocking vision from rear-view mirror.
My model did not come with a navigation panel screen and a hole for backup camera.
So I was thinking of installing a backup camera myself, and thought it would be great if I can see the vision from backup camera even when I am not backing up.
I did some research and come up with my current setup.
I bought monitor mentioned above which had two video inputs: one for backup camera that will only be activated when backing up , and the other for general video input which is always activated.
I connected the camera's output to general video input of the monitor, and inserted a on/off switch. I adjusted the length of the cord so the switch will come about below the handle of driver seat.
This set up allows me to see the camera's vision whenever I switch it on. Very convenient indeed.
