This is a great at home gloss!! Not as good as a salon gloss of course. I've read negative reviews on various sites but many of the complaints refer to expectations of results that gloss is not intended to provide. Gloss is not color and isn't permanent. Gloss provides shine, refreshes faded color, and is temporary/semi-permanent. It will not cover gray roots that have grown out but will make them blend easier. My hair is pretty much all gray without color. Due to prior damage, I only color once every 8 weeks. On week 4 I get a salon color refresher gloss. My color is beginning to fade and my gray roots are standing out against espresso colored hair. The gloss refresheses the faded color, blends the grays, adds shine and softer texture. On week 6 and 7 I use the at home gloss. Week 8, color again. The gloss with no ammonia or peroxide is less damaging and improves the look, feel, & health of the hair. Since using this routine instead of coloring every 4 weeks my hair is finally getting length and the skunk stripe is a lot less noticeable.
