As professional...it's good. Good for beginners too.
So, I'm not popular or anything like that, but I still do professional work. It'll last me until I can purchase an Intous Pro or Cintique. I chose this tablet as a replacement for my nine-year-old Graphire 4 (medium, pictured underneath). After spending a few hours on Amazon, I decided this would be my best option for my price range/needs. After spending a few hours with it, here are some notes: -This tablet is small. It fits within the active draw area of my old tablet. The active area for this drawing tablet is smaller too, but for the work I do it's negligible. The upgraded version of this tablet (the medium art) is double the price. So keep that in mind if you want to go bigger. I'm used to drawing in a small space so it doesn't bother me too much. -I didn't even bother with the prepackaged software so I can't yay or nay that part. I have no use for them. I just downloaded the drivers from wacom's site and plugged it in and went to town! -I'm used to the Graphire's smooth surface. This new tablet has a textured surface and it feels weird but I'll get used to it. I also noticed this pen's nibs are shorter as well. Can't wait to see how long a nib will last (luckily the tablet comes with 3 spare nibs, and my old nibs fit). -As a note, this is NOT the same tablet as the CTH490AK. This tablet DOES NOT have touch capabilities. That's fine for me, I wouldn't want to spend $$$ and muck the surface up with my oily fingers. -Connects with a usb cable, but you may purchase a wireless kit if you want. -I'm really glad they did away with the rubber grip. My grips never lasted long and got disgusting rather quick. -I'm taking off a star because they removed the eraser nib. Not that I ever used mine, but it seems silly. In addition, I wish they offered a medium size in this tablet. I would like to have seen one offered for about $100. I would have bought that one if that was the case. Lastly, they could have offered an all black version. I'll write an update eventually.
