I first want to let everyone know who buys this, probably MOST of these fireplaces come in 2 boxes so dont worry when you just get 1/2 (1 box is the insert and 1 box is the mantel) That being said, I am absolutely in love with this Fireplace. My home is very open and very white so this was a perfect choice for what I need, The color is off white and the details on the mantel are very simple but quite classy. Putting the unit together was very easy, the directions were very strait froward and easy to follow, everything was numbered correctly even the hardware bag with the screws and dowels. (only needed a Philips screw driver ) Once put together the fireplace feels very solid and sturdy. (I have the fireplace on carpet and a very fat curious cat so was worried about tipping, that wont happen) . The flames look great (as 1 person said they look about as real as any fake flame could look) The heating unit puts off a good amount of heat and the blower sounds about what you would expect,(blowing) I dont find it bothersome or loud. Over all I am finding this to be the perfect addition to my living room and I feel quite confident in recommending this fireplace for durability, quality, ease of putting together, and above all beauty!! ***Update*** It has been 5 yrs Since I purchased this fireplace. It's still looks and works just as it did on day one. I still love it
