The 6 inch was definitely the way to go. Me and the husband are middle aged campers with hip and knee problems and we need something comfortable if we are sleeping on the ground. Husband is a 6 foot, big guy and as you can see in the photos he doesn't bottom out even on his side! It popped up to its full size in a few minutes. It's wonderful. I will be seeing a carrying case for it with handles because on its own its a little unwieldy. ********************************** UPDATE: We took this on a 4 day camping trip (90 degree weather!) and it was fantastic. It was very cushy to kneel on to move around the tent and slept just like a real mattress! We love it.
