I have backyard paving stones and over time, the paving stones and sand between them grew darker, dirtier and, in more shady sections, likely mildewed. I periodically hosed down the patio, but that didn't eliminate the dirt, either on the stones or between them. I had considered power washing, but was concerned that I would end up with no filler between the stones. I stumbled upon Wet and Forget while looking for a scrubbing solution, read the reviews and tried the product. I can honestly tell you that it exceeded my expectations. Based on reviews I had read on the product, I used a higher than recommended concentration and sprayed down (saturated) the patio. Two days later, I repeated the process, just to be sure. In a matter of days, I began to notice a brightening of the stones and that the black stuff between the blocks began to lighten. The directions state that the weather will naturally wash away the loosened dirt over time, but I decided not to wait and hosed down the patio. What a difference that made. By that time, much of the dark dirt had risen up and was easily washed away. Interestingly, the product continued to work for another week or so, and the patio now looks immensely better than it did when I started. I showed a neighbor and, to demonstrate the before and after difference, sprayed down a single paving stone on her patio. A week later, the difference was clear, and I promised to order the product for her. She's in her late 70s and appreciates not having to scrub or hire someone to do that. Instead, I volunteered to help her next spring. Truthfully, this product works better than advertised and much better than I had expected.
