My first civilian pair of NVGs
Honestly since this is my first pair of civilian NVG, I don't have much to compare it to on the market. However I did serve 10 years and in comparison to the one we used these are very good. No they aren't tactical, but as far as picture, clarity, distance, these are even better than the ones we used in service. I wasn't special forces or ranger, who got the top of the line equipment, so don't go comparing to that. But as far as basic issue NVGs these rival those. Not to mention you can take pictures and do video, and not having sound is not an issue for me, I like that in case a play back malfunction happens in a tactical situation. On the negative side they are a little bulky and the IR can definitely be spotted, but honestly you get a pretty good picture without using it at a distance, you will need to use IR for up close viewing in darkness. But for the money, you really get a good, functional pair of NVGs. The build quality appears to be good and solid, good feel on the buttons and casing, the strap has swivel hooks instead of looping which I like also. So if you don't want to break the bank and want something better than the low end NVGs these are the pair for you, I think most people will be satisfied. Just see the review rating, people are happy and you might just get the free night vision flashlight as a bonus. Pretty decent form fitted carry case also and 32G SD. Hope this helps.
