RN review
First off, I'm a registered nurse AND a mother. I work with oxygen saturation monitors countless times throughout a shift in the ER. I honestly might buy a second one of these as a quick check at work. It is a QUICK reading! Much faster then our high standard expensive hospital grade saturation monitor. I compared, this one is accurate. I bought this fir my young daughter 20 months who has had respiratory "issues" and asthma along with multiple diagnoses of RSV. I do "spot checking" (these should never be left on for long periods of time) It has proven accurate on myself, my 4 year old, and my daughter. The only negative I will say is that it appears to be very delicate. If you open it all the way it feels quite loose and easy to break. I know how to be extra careful and have a good grip to keep my girls hand steady. But if you expect to get a reading from a wailing hand... well then you don't know oxygen monitors. They typically need stillness to give an accurate reading. There it is. I hope this helps. I really feel it can be beneficial to those who need simple spot checks. Always double check home monitors with hospital grade (you can usually do this at Dr office as well).
