i just moved into an apartment and my dog had never lived that close to neighbors before, so all the new noises and people caused her to bark when i wasnt home and it was causing complaints. this was my last hope to keep my dog at my apartment. at first i set it on vibrate. she would bark, it would beep, then vibrate and she would stop. but, eventually she learned that a vibration is just what happened when she barked. So, i changed it to shock. it made me feel so bad for the first day or two when she would get a shock, it was confusing and painful for her im sure, but after 2 days of it no more barking! she might start to bark or growl but the collar beeps to warn her and she stops, ive been using it for about 3 weeks now and she is so quiet, mind you, it will not completely stop the barking. but one or two barks a day is manageable, and ive even been able to set it back to vibrate, the beep is enough to make her stop. i recommend for anyone who absolutely needs to have a quieter dog
