I put a 30 gallon filter in my 20 gallon. I've been a fish enthusiast for about 6 years and have used this particular brand for 4 of them, I love the bio-wheel and the filters are easy to buy, install, and clean if need be. The product comes with two slots to have two filter cartridges at once, I took advantage of that and put my old filter cartridge in the back slot to transfer the beneficial bacteria to the new filter.
