This is a GAME CHANGER!
This thing literally changed my life! My period is so ridiculously heavy for the first 2 days. I used to need to change plus size tampons every 45 minutes for the first 2 days round the clock. I would set timers. No joke.
Last June I started wearing the Softcup disposable menstrual cups, which took some time to get used to, but I really liked them. I still had to empty them about every hour or so the first 2 days, and it was a horrible mess (if you've never seen them, they are basically a plastic bag on a ring that collects Auntie Flo. Upon removal, they have no form, so you'd better be positioned directly over a toilet or bathtub or prepare for your bathroom to look like a crime scene. Also, be sure a sink is within reach because you're about to have a real mess on your hands... in the most literal sense.) ANYWAY... Enter the Saalt Cup. After a year with the disposables, I had realized I would never go back to tampons in my life, BUT I wanted something with more form to it than a plastic bag, so the Saalt Cup was my choice.
I've never been so anxious to get my period as I was this month. Hahaha! I got it this morning, and wouldn't you know it happened at Walmart... when there was a stinking line in the ladies' room. UGH! My period was due 4 days ago, and I've been home ALL week with the kids, but nope... has to come while I'm at Walmart. So I say I guess I'm just going to have to figure this out real quick. Tried the punch down fold... pretty sure I didn't do that one right because it popped open before I got it up there. Let's try the C fold. Folded that thing and just shoved it in. Perfect. Felt nothing. Questioned whether I did it right.
I kept stopping in the bathroom while I was out and went a few times at home with no leaking, so I must have done it right I figured.
Four hours later still no leaking, so I figure maybe I'd better change this thing before the dam breaks. Reached up while pushing gently, gave it a little pinch on the end of the cup, pulled with my hands and gave a little push down there, and it came right out. No leaking. No mess. Just a little cup filled maybe 1/3 of the way.
Oh. Em. Flipping. Gee! No blood running up to my wrist like with the disposable kind. No weird crinkly plastic to worry about if I'm in public, making it sound like I'm opening a bag of potato chips in the women's restroom. Nope. Just neat and tidy and easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!
And the part that is really blowing my mind is FOUR HOURS, you guys! FOUR HOURSSSSSS!!! On day ONE!
My. Mind. Is. Blown.
I'll should it from the rooftops... I LOVE THIS THING!
