Same as Fiero w/ New Design ... Same Great Results
I already own two Samsonite Luggage Fiero HS Spinner 20, which I purchased in the last year to upgrade carry-on luggage with the 360 degree wheels. In comparing the Fiero with the Omni, both pieces of luggage appear to be identical except for the design. I've included some pictures, so you can see some views of the two side-by-side.
I really enjoy the suite case as it's very sturdy and lightweight, more so than my previous carry-on. The wheels wheels transition well from being pulled to being pushed. The material of the case itself is scratch-resistant, so while it will hold up to some wear it is not scratch proof. I've taken over 10 trips so far with the suite case and it has only very minor wear.
I did not buy the suite case for the lock mechanism, although it was nice to know I could lock and TSA could unlock. Take note that the locks are TSA-compatible, so if you travel outside the US and your bags need to be opened they do not have the special TSA tool to open the bag. I encountered this accidentally on a recent trip where my bag (involuntarily checked) was opened by TSA, and then locked. I had never used the lock combination, so when I arrived I asked local airline reps for assistance opening the lock. They indicated that the lock tool was specific to TSA and USA and so they did not have the ability to open. I managed to get online and find out that default combination was 000, which promptly opened the bag. I would recommend setting a combination even if you don't plan to lock the bag.
Overall this is a great bag and I was glad to add another to my options for traveling.
