A comparison to the Beaba- pros, cons, overall review
I'm a mother of 2 and with my 1st, I had the Beaba. At the time, I thought it was the best invention ever- super easy to use and straightforward and it saved me so much time to make food for my little one. 2.5 years later, I was about to start solids with my 2nd, only to find that it was questionable to use as the .5 diameter of a hole where the water goes in, was almost impossible to clean, even with vinegar, so I unfortunately had to throw it away. After reading reviews, I found that I was suppose to clean it after 6-8 uses, which I didnt know until after the fact (truth be told, I skimmed the instruction manual). Since I was in the market for another similar product, I purchased this item as the area to put the water was very big and easy to access when it was ready to clean. After over a month in use, here are my thoughts- 1. Bottle warmer feature- Love that it doubles up as a good maker and bottle warmer, however, it takes a while for it to warm up- I rather stick with my bottle warm that has a dial- much faster 2. Ease of use- not easy or straightforward- I had to read the manual diligently to make sure I got everything right- not the hardest thing to figure out, but yes- you have to read the manual on this one for sure, no skimming! 3. Quality- it's been great so far, no complaints. It does get water spots in the reservoir fairly quickly, but I already know how to clean this feature 4. Blending noise- I comparison to the Beaba, its slightly louder and it blends itself with an option to blend more, with the Beaba you have to blend it yourself 5. Liquid excess- with the Beaba, I liked how the liquid from all the vapor and steam was left at the bottom of the basket because you can put more of it in the basket if the puree is too thick, which this machine you cannot do that, a bit of a con for me as the puree can be a little thick and hard to swallow- I added water to make it to the consistency I prefer 6. Chicken and meat- I like that you can cook raw chicken and meat in this machine- the beaba doesnt allow you to customize the time ot would take to cook it, so a pro for me 7. Size- compact and similar to a Beaba , so pro for me! 8. Blender- i notice that the blender is slightly better with the Beaba, to ensure prunes and the skin to fruits, such as apples, is completely blended, i transfer it to my ninja blender- not the end of the world but it would be nice to have better blender. Overall, I like it and it does the job, so I will be keeping it and I would recommend it, especially with the huge savings- a Beaba easily costs $150 without tax and shipping. Good luck and hope this was helpful!
