I have used this tape for three purposes, and it has excelled at each: 1) iPhone charging cables tend to show a separation of the cable insulation from the silicone boot at one or both plug ends. Wrapping the cable end, overlapping the boot, with a few turns of this tape stabilizes this break and also acts as a strain relief. Looks ok, too. That used the first 6" of tape for all the iPhone cables in my household. 2) A basement sump pump with a 1 3/4" diameter poly hose suffered a direct lawnmower hit, opening a sizable gash. In the middle of the winter (I had wrapped with duct tape in warm weather, but it did not hold well), with icy water spraying from the break, I wrapped with this tape. The leak was very effectively stopped. That used up the rest of the tape, so I am ordering a second roll. 2) A Miele vacuum spring-return power cord developed a break in the outside insulation. It is both expensive and time consuming to replace the cord assembly. As an alternative, I wrapped the break with this tape, and it has now been functioning well for ~6 months; the flexibility of the tape is key to this application.
