I am not bald but do shave my head so my hair grows in fast and I have thick hair. I used head blades but they would break all the time and the blades would last maybe 3 shaves. After my last head blade broke I purchased this unit. My first shave was dry after 5 days of growth and it cut through it very well. It wasn’t baby smooth like a razor but it did cut well. I would use it daily and the time to shave cut down to about 8 mins. I tried it in the shower a few times and had good results with it. The more I use it the smoother the shave is. I have used it with shaving cream and that works very well just needs to be rinsed more often. I got about 5 full shaves out of it before I had to charge it and now if I do a dry shave I use electric razor pre-shave and it helps. I would say the ONLY downside is trying to clean the center head. It’s almost impossible the unit needs to be dry you have to turn it a bit and then you will need something to pop the center off. For the price this is much better then a head blade and razor unit. With the razor blades I had to be cautious not to cut myself and with the electric razor there are no concerns
