I have fed Natural Balance for 7 years and when they raised their prices and lowered the bags from 15 pounds to 12 pounds I started looking for an alternative. Plus my border collie mix seemed to not want to eat it as easily. Maybe she was tired of it after 7 years. My mom fed Solid Gold and I tried switching over to that but my poor girl developed hot spots and lost a lot of hair. So back to Natural Balance I went while I looked for another alternative. I decided to go ahead and try this. My dogs love it. I love the quality ingredients. The reason for the four star rating is even though their stool looks great (solid) it has greatly increased in volume. I am not talking a small amount. My puggle has so much I wonder where he puts it all before he goes. My border mix girl used to go twice a day in normal amounts but now goes at least four times a day. My puggle goes a lot more than that. UPDATE: The people at Canidae were awesome they emailed me and we went back and forth with different emails. They even asked me the amount I was feeding and the dogs weight. They then had their vet email me. He told me that the dogs just needed to get used to the higher fiber content and unique fiber source(alfalfa). And he is right the stool volume is now normal. I am so pleased with their customer service. They actually took the time to talk to me and made me feel like a valued customer. I am changing this from 4 stars to 5 stars.
