It's about time!
I recently purchased the new Crock-Pot Casserole Crock Cook and Carry because the size and shape seemed that it would be convenient for numerous dishes. This slow cooker is wonderful. It’s about time someone got smart enough to manufacture a slow cooker in a convenient shape and size. I developed a tarragon chicken recipe with a whole grain pilaf (I’m a food writer on BellaOnline.com and am currently completing a slow cooker cookbook) and am blown away by how perfect this slow cooker is for casserole dishes, as well as cakes and desserts. It is absolutely perfect for lasagna. I would say that this is the “must-have” appliance of the year, and since I personally own 43 slow cookers of different shapes and sizes as well as several multi-cookers, that’s saying as lot.
The only negative I can see is that the plastic clasps on each end which make this slow cooker transportable are plastic and seem to be cheaply made; so is the handle on the lid. I expect them to possibly break sooner rather than later. However, they may be better than I think, and will hopefully last; I plan to be putting this appliance to the test over and over, so I’ll update the review after a few dozen tests. Even if the plastic parts do break, the shape and size of this slow cooker are so good, I’ll just get out my super glue. I would recommend this Crock-Pot to everyone.
