Just as the title says, I slipped on some ice and dropped my iPad on rocky pavement. The case wasn't closed, and broke apart from the iPad anyway. It landed screen-down. There was crushed class at three of the corners, and three spots with small spider-like cracks, and two cracks going several inches across the screen. I thought the screen was cracked, until I ran my fingernail across the screen protector, and could feel that the cracks were in the protector. I removed the protector to find that my iPad screen itself was unscratched. The protector absorbed the energy of the impact by crushing and cracking. The glass screen protector gave its life in the line of duty, and was fully successful. And the company is sending me a new one for free. This is what they mean by "lifetime warranty" I suppose. I'm a lifetime customer now. The metal case of the ipad was a little dented in two places because the case broke and came off. That was a failure. The screen protector was a success. Hint: to remove a glass screen protector, use a sharp knife to very gently lift a corner, just high enough to slip a piece of paper in, maybe a business card. Then stick in other business cards working your way around. Do not lift, just slide. Continue until you don't need to continue any more.
