Brace yourself, water is coming!
This water tank works exactly how you would hope. However, it has a dark side... The thought of having 4 gallons of water in reserve is a beautiful idea for those with a thirsty animal, refilling a simple bowl many times a day. All will go perfectly well until refill time rears its ugly head. A 4 gallon tank weighs roughly 33 lbs, then attach the plastic stand to the top and prepare yourself for a mess. For those in a perfect world where water doesn't get on anything as you refill, this may bewilder you, but for the rest of us the struggle is real. As I carry the fully topped off water tank in an underslung-cradle-like fashion to the eat/drink area, I begin to enter the "I'm going to just set this down" phase. This is the time when you realize how awkward this is about to be, with no idea of what's about to unwillingly unfold. As I lean over to set it on the ground while simultaneously attempting to flip the 33lb jug onto it's lightweight plastic base, the residual water from the refill left on the outside of the tank morphs into the slickest object on the planet. As it begins to slip, I try to retain any grip on the tank and I realize there is no good way to hold and flip this mamouth without pretzeling my arms. I fall to the floor on my knees in an attempt to thwart the aqua explosion which is unfolding. The base begins to spin and water begins to "gravity feed". The 33lbs of water which has been flipped, now continues with its momentum to complete its full flip as the base kicks out from the bottom. With water still flowing and chaos unfolding, the bowl of dog food nearby becomes a casualty of war and is now a makeshift missle as the base takes out everything in close proximity. Like a wet salamander holding a greased up watermelon, I manage to regain control of the tank as it settles to its final resting place. Now I grab the preparred giant bowl of water close by and quickly dump it into the bottom bowl to maximize the time I have between refills. As I kneel there in the aftermath, I see water is covering the floor, myself, the tank, the dog, and the dogfood which is now strewn all accross the floor, I thank the heavens that I've avoided filling that simple dog bowl 2-3 times a day by using this gravity fed watering device. Even still, I would buy again 🤣
