Wonderful Hot Humidifier... but remember unless your using Distilled water there's lots to clear up.
I'm got some medical stuff... so I've gone through a lot of humidifiers over the years. Heck I have 3 running right now in my 1000sqft apartment.
PROS:
* The UV light is a huge plus!
* It's super quiet.. mostly you only hear the bubbles as the water goes from the tanks into the tray below. I have mine on a dresser at the foot of my bed and even though im easy to startle, i sleep straight through having this one.
* Works fast. Here in the cold Chicago Polar Vortex winter, my other humidifier could only get my bedroom to 25% humidify if i left the door open (as measured by a separate humidistat) This one, also measured by same separate humidistat can keep my room at 45% or higher depending on how much the radiators are running.
* The two separate tanks are so small they fit in my SINK, so no more climbing into the bathtub to refill the humidifier.
* Mineral filter does an OK job, but needs replacing often.. like weekly.
CONS:
* You have 2 choices with ANY hot/warm humidifier that's not ultrasonic... either buy and use DISTILLED WATER, or commit to cleaning it once a week with white vinegar and then replace the fabric mineral filter. THIS IS TRUE FOR ANY SUCH HUMIDIFIER, it's NOT a problem specific to this one. Pay attention to how many gallons of water you use in a week, and how much time and bother it takes to clean and decide what is best for you.
NOTE: SPRING WATER or FILTERED WATER or anything else is NOT the same.. the point of DISTILLED WATER is that the distilling process removes ALL the minerals that turn to crusty gunk with the water is raised to the point of boil/steam.
* Plan to buy the Mineral Filters in BULK cause you'll need to change once a week. Some people have said cotton balls work just as well but I have NOT yet tried that myself.
