Two of my kids have been diagnosed with autism with all the accompanying sensory processing disorders. This is my 5th time ordering these ear muffs. Not because they don't hold up, but because they are a life saver and I need a pair for each kid for everywhere they go - a house pair, a car pair, a school pair, an OT pair, etc. (Go ahead and tell me my kids should learn to keep track of their belongings - I could use the laugh.) In my experience, my boys can still hear me well enough when I talk to them while they wear these, but the background noise is muffled and therefore less painful and distracting. Have recommended and would recommend again to a friend.
