As it diffuses, you can see different colors which creates a zen like feeling. For some reason, my engineer husband finds the color changing fascinating. Because the colors come from a small strip, it is interesting without being overwhelming. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. Add water to the line, add 3 drops of essential oils, push one hour or three and enjoy the lovely aromas. I used it first when we had steamed shrimp. Love it, but UGH the smell lingers for days.
