Okay, I have to confess that i really didn’t care about the charcoal or anything else. I bought it because i wanted my wife and I to distinguish between my brush and hers. I am color blind so the colors on the bottom of the brush is almost meaningless. My wife and I have been using the oral-b pulsar and like them, but i am constantly grabbing hers and then she grabs the other because it is dry. I guess it doesn’t matter, but when i saw the solid black - I knew i had a winner. When they came in, I actually realized how novel it was to have a black toothbrush. Sure i have had the oral b blue brushes , but still black is really cool. The big surprise came after using it. I actually really liked the soft bristles, the size and shape of the head, and of course the color. After a week of use i actually fee like my teeth are whiter...rarely do i have a toothbrush that is any other than a tool. I have used all sorts over my life, and i actually am really pleased with this brush...now the problem is the guilt, if i let my wife have one and she likes it...we will be right back where we started🙂.
