Love the curlers but wish there was an on/off switch
This is my first set of hot curlers. I like them a lot, but took off a star because there is no on/off switch, you have to plug in and unplug when done. It's inconvenient. They take about 10 minutes to heat up once plugged in. There is one curler in the set with a red dot that turns white when they are ready.
Using curlers takes some practice! However, once you get it the curls come out great and stay all day. I have thick frizzy hair that I get a straightening treatment on to relax it, so my hair doesn't usually hold a curl for very long. I use a little bit of styling gel when blow drying and then put the curlers in. If I just want some body, I leave them in for a few minutes and remove. If I want tighter curls, I leave them in until they cool, remove the curlers, wait about 5 min, then hit it with a quick shot of light hold hairspray. I found out not to use a brush after or they don't always curl back up all the way, I just use my fingers to run through my hair.
A word of advice, don't leave the lid open once they heat up or they don't stay hot. I just open the lid long enough to remove one and then let it shut while I wrap. Also, there is no auto shut off, I forgot to unplug it once and realized it when I was going to bed that night and the light was still on.
**Picture shows my natural frizzy hair upper left, relaxed hair upper right, and styled with curlers both bottom pics. I almost never post pics of myself, so please be kind! I thought it might help someone looking to see if this is right for them.
