This does everything you would expect from a budget-priced printer pen. I am really happy that I got it as a gift for my less technical family member. But I'm glad I was there to help him set it up! It is true that the pen works with both PLA and ABS, but because those types of filaments operate at different temperatures, the pen needs to be adjusted to the filament you're using. This is done by opening a small flap and adjusting a tiny Potentiometer. (I'm betting my brother has already lost the tiny screwdriver that is included) Understanding the potentiometer and setting it right could be easily mishandled by less technical users. My solution was to throw out the included ABS samples that come with the pen and advise my family to never touch the adjuster, and to only use the pen with PLA filament. I would recommend that anyone buying this as a gift pick up a sample pack of PLA filament and ignore the included ABS.
