Easy... Because he is the reason why this product is getting my seldom given four star rating. Netflix, my cat, of Flix as we like to call him is the reason for my purchasing this product, and as you might be able to tell by my use of personal pronouns... Flix is a male cat. As such, he, like most males, likes to mark his territory, such as my bed ... Especially when he senses that there has been another male present. (Mom, stop reading here) So, Flix became fond of "marking" my bed because he didn't like the smell of one male in particular and whose smell apparently lingered there longer than our relationship. I "Nature's Miracled" the living $#+! out of the mattress and cleaned my sheets in bleach but nothing made a difference. It took Flix longer to get over the other male in my bed than it took me to... Until during one of my late night Amazon binges... I stumbled onto this product. It has been over a year now and I'm happy to report that while Flix has discovered other ways to make me spend my money, cleaning products for my mattress has not been one of those ways. Here he is on the bed with this cover on it hidden discreetly under my epic flannel sheets and the only thing on his mind is stealing my seaweed salad. On a side note: I've noticed that the sheets stay fresh smelling for longer and my morning allergies/congestion are completely gone... so I'm assuming it's this amazing little ditty. When it came time last year to upgrade to a king sized mattress and retire this bed to the guest room that never has any guests in it, the guy at the mattress store tried to sell me a mattress cover like this one for over $150. Ummm... thanks but... I will buy this one again and again... and I suggest you do the same.
