Sport Sensor Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer, my tool of choice.
Here is a review I wish I had read before I bought my Sports Sensor Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer. I am a 68 yo golfer, only being able to play about 4 rounds a year over the past few years, because of work. When I was younger (40's) my handicap was down to 6. I'm guessing it is about 12-14 now, but I haven't played enough to know for sure. When I bought new clubs, including a Titleist 913 D3 driver, the store put I'm in a regular shaft with 10.5 deg loft. (A poor choice). I wound up going to the PGA Tour Academy here at World Golf Village and the Pro put me on the FlightScope and measured my swing speed at consistently at 95 mph. Told me I needed a stiff shaft and a 8.5 deg driver. I had read about the radar unit and ask him if it would be good to use to rebuild my golf swing and increase my swing speed. He agreed and I purchased the unit the same day. When it arrived a week later, I went to the range with it. Wouldn't you know the course was closed for a tournament, but I set the device up and swung with no balls. I was consistently swinging at 88 - 89 mph (not 95). I called the company and to my surprise they answered the phone. When I asked if there was some adjustment I could make to set the monitor to match my 95 mph, they said no but asked if I was hitting balls. When I replied no, he told me that I needed to hit balls, I was not releasing the club without a ball. I had been releasing the club, I thought but today (a week later) I went to the range and hit balls. To my surprise, the first one was 95 mph! The next 20 were between 94 and 96 mph. I then began making adjustments in my swing with increasing width, lag and release (all the time with soft wrist and correct body turn). By the end of the workout, I was in the 100-102 mph without swinging harder. This is why I bought the monitor and I will continue to use it in my practice. If you are serious about increasing your swing speed, this is a great tool to help you. I hope this have been helpful.
