Great Item
I also have a Nuvi 1450 which this replaced. It is bigger than the 1450 so I placed it as low on the windshield as I could. I found the balance that minimizes the lost of windshield view and still allows the cam to see the road. I took a 400 miles trip with it and all the features worked as stated. The Forward Collision Warning system popped up a couple of times as drivers pulled in front of me while changing lanes The Lane Departure Warning system works very well and I found I like it. I did notices that for road where maintenance crews had fixed the road by pouring tar in cracks the Nuvi Cam thought the tar lines were road lines. Voice command works well, sometimes. While in Green Bay I looked for a number of places where the unit could not understand me or the place was not in it's system. Sometimes it was just funny. I asked to to find Gordmans, a store in Green Bay WI, and it asked if I said Mortons and four other names that sounded nothing like Gordman. Or maybe I just don't talk that well. The maps are great and the unit does switch to the cam view when you are close to your destination with an arrow point at the road or driveway. I live in a small area and never take the NuviCam out of my truck, but I didn't want to leave it in sight in larger cities. This means that every time you dismount it and remount it you have to adjust the cam view. I replace the 4GB MicroSDHC card with a 64GB SDXC card for the recordings. I put the card in my computer and viewed some of the recordings. It takes great MP4 files. Each looks to be about a minute of the trip. Each file is 61,504 kb and 4 GB will hold about an hour of the trip. This is a great item and I am glad I bought it.
