One Very Important Often Overlooked Supplement - 😊👍
I have been taking a daily multi-vitamin for years. However as I age I have become more concerned over my health. We don't always eat what we should in order to get the vitamins and minerals we need. When I seen these Nature Made, High Absorption Magnesium Glycinate capsules I checked my multi-vitamin to see the dosage in it. There was 50 mg and these are 200 mg; plus these are glycinate and the multi-vitamin merely said magnesium. So I did a quick search on the benefits and differences of magnesium and the various forms. I found this info: "Magnesium is the 4th most abundant mineral in your body. It’s involved in over 300 metabolic reactions that are essential for human health, including energy production, blood pressure regulation, nerve signal transmission, and muscle contraction. Interestingly, low levels are linked to a variety of illnesses, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, mood disorders, and migraines. Although this mineral is present in many whole foods like green leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts, and seeds, up to two-thirds of people in the Western world don’t meet their magnesium needs with diet alone." Okay so which form of magnesium should I be taking? I found 10 forms listed on the internet; now if that doesn't make it more confusing. Magnesium glycinate is formed from elemental magnesium and the amino acid glycine. Your body employs this amino acid in protein construction. It also occurs in many protein-rich foods, such as fish, meat, dairy, and legumes. Magnesium glycinate is easily absorbed and may have calming properties. It may help reduce anxiety, depression, stress, and insomnia. Yet, scientific evidence on these uses is limited, so more studies are needed. (always the disclaimer) So by now I am thinking this is good for me, right? After all I take a daily multi-vitamin. Does it really work? I don't know but I'm told it is good for me. So I have been taking the recommended dosage in the evening before bedtime. It seems to help me to get to sleep and rest better. I sleep more deeply than without it; that is a certainty. The other benefits, well I will take their word for it. I hope this proves helpful. Thanks for Reading - ✌😉
