Scripted guide to teach reading
As a homeschooling leader since 1980, I’ve always used and recommended this book. It has a red-letter script for teacher to guide the learner. Recently, our neighbor was frustrated because her seven year old still couldn’t read. I recommended this book. He was reading short stories within a week! I started our daughter with this book when she was three. She was reading at second grade level at age four. Suggestions: 1. Cover story illustrations with Post it notes. Then do a big reveal after the first reading. 2. Allow your student to put a fun sticker on the front each time they finish a lesson. 3. Use colored pencils to lightly color the illustrations.
