I wanted to write this review to address the hum that many people are complaining about. The reviews made me question purchasing this fan. Once installed and I turned on, I really started to regret it. Sure enough, there was the hum that people were talking, and it boy was it loud! Well after coming back to read the reviews here, I noticed some people mentioned running the fan for 24 hours to get rid of the hum. I also checked the manual, and sure enough under trouble shooting it mentions running the fan for 24 hours in case of noise. So after leaving the fan running all night for 24 hours, what a difference! The fan is now nearly silent. The only noise I hear is the blades cutting through the air, which for how much air this thing moves, it's pretty silent. So if you find the motor too loud, definitely run it for at least 24 hours straight. I was also presently surprised by the lighting on this. Not only is it super bright, but it gives of a nice warm glow. I wasn't expecting to like the lighting at all, but it's quite nice.
