I have severe glaucoma, and have lost the sight in my left eye. My remaining eye, the right, has suffered a detached retina and cataracts. When God passed out eyes, I was definitely standing behind the door. I had completely given up reading text unless it was on my computer, where I could enlarge fonts and increase brightness, but while that allowed me to read emails, I was unable to read my beloved cookbooks. I am an avid cook, and was terribly upset that using a recipe required a flashlight (no kidding), and placing my nose practically on the text. I decided to take a chance on the MagniPro 3x ultra bright page magnifier because, frankly, I had nothing left to lose, and the price was not cost prohibitive. I figured if It didn't work, I was only going to be out twenty dollars. Well, it works. It's WONDERFUL. Print is now easily viewed, and the built in light really helps as well. Even if you don't have only one remaining eye that is barely limping along, but simply aging eyes that need a little help, this is absolutely the solution to your problems.
