This dehydrator is just what I needed. My job has me working in the backcountry for a week at a time, carrying all of my food and camping gear on my back. So I obviously want my food to be as light as possible. But I'm also a bit of a food snob and love to cook delicious foods. I'm not super fond of many of the readymade backpacking food, not to mention that they can break the bank. This dehydrator solved all of my problems. It's so easy to make many types of meals at home, dehydrate them (either whole or in parts) with this, and carry them out to the field where I can cook them up and enjoy healthy, homemade food. By far my favorite thing to make is chili. It's awesome to use the fruit leather trays and just pile the chili on. The tray collect and dry out all the delicious liquid, saving all of the flavors and helping you make some of the best trail food you will ever have. My coworkers love me because of this :)
