I read the other customer reviews carefully before purchasing these pants, which I intended to use for winter hiking in the Catskill Mountains of New York. While the pants were designed for hiking, many of the reviewers noted that they were excellent for many outdoor activities in the winter, including hiking. They were absolutely correct. These are the best wintertime hiking pants that I have ever purchased. They are remarkably comfortable. I used them three days ago on a 6.6-mile hike in 15-degree weather, gaining approximately 2,000 feet of elevation. They kept me warm and dry, and they flexed in a way that kept me comfortable throughout an arduous, icy hike. Those who enjoy hiking in the winter should definitely purchase these pants.
