Great game, NOT a scam!
I know there are a lot of phony games in the Android app store, especially ones that deceptively capitalize on Minecraft's success. SurvivalCraft is NOT one of those games. In fact, it is far better than Minecraft Pocket Edition itself at the moment, with the exception of not having any LAN multiplayer. At it's core, this is a MC clone. But there are aspects which make this game distinct. The (what seems like?) infinite map size is amazing (MCPE does not have this). I love the textures, realistic mobs (no creepers!), and general mechanics. The blocks/items are good too; though missing some things like beds, paintings and bookshelves, it includes new stuff like 2 different kinds of framed windows, and wicker lamps. Beds aren't even necessary, as sleeping can be done anywhere well protected from mobs, and on soft ground. With such a huge map, you're bound to get lost exploring, or at least need to rest before returning home. You do NOT want to be out at night!! The seeds are fantastic and will generate really beautiful scenery. Caves abound, and are really fun to explore. There are even wolf dens to be found in unexpected places. Survival mode is very rewarding, while creative is far more useful than MCPE's. Generate flat terrain and fly reasonably comfortably in a way you won't find with MCPE. SC even has a version of Redstone, although it is a bit more limited, and called Logic Gates. The built-in Recipedia really helps with figuring this stuff out, not to mention just about anything else you'd need to know while playing the game. It's a great all-in-one package that really suits the on-the-go tablet format. Finally, the support is also very good. The creator of this game has a very helpful YouTube channel, and there is an active forum available as well. Updates seem frequent and this information is given right on the main menu. The only quasi-negative I can give is with regard to what seems like an awesome feature, but I'm having trouble making it work; the Dropbox. So theoretically I should be able to download and/or upload maps, textures, etc, but - and I'm on a Kindle Fire - I haven't personally gotten this to work properly, nor have I contacted anyone for technical support as I really don't care about Dropbox anyway. It seems to work fine for most others though, and a search on the forum indicates that questions concerning Dropbox have been asked and answered in the past, so I do not doubt the problem is fixable. Anywho, for such a low price (in comparison to MCPE), I would highly recommend SC over MCPE, unless you really want that LAN multiplayer. But honestly, there is another MC clone app out there that does worldwide MC-style multiplayer, at something like 99¢. I would only say that if you decide to get this instead of MCPE, you may want to keep your eye on MCPE updates, to see if they improve their game to meet SC standards. For now, go with SC and save yourself some $$$ for a better game, anyway!
