This thing is wonderful! I had a Logitech rechargeable speaker before and this thing blows that out of the water. As the name suggests, it is portable and rechargeable. I will say that it is portable but you are not going to fit it into a school backpack. You may be able to fit it into a carry on but it wouldn't leave much room for clothes. Battery life thus far is outstanding although I have only had it for a couple weeks. When it arrived, I fully charged the battery and haven't had to plug it in since after several hours of listening. Bluetooth was simple and straight forward allowing me to connect an IPod Nano quickly. Sound quality is wonderful considering the price. Some audiophiles may moan about this and that but let's be realistic. This speaker is intended for those wanting to pump a lot of music at the beach/park/locker room/party/etc with good sound quality. If you are really looking for audiophile quality, you can't expect it in those environments. You certainly can't expect it at this price. This speaker produces wonderful rich sound that 99% of us will love. The other 1% will never be happy. Only thing I would change: This speaker is about the size of a small personal electric guitar amplifier. It is about the same weight as one too. It would be nice if there was a heavy duty strap over the top of the speaker for easier single-handed carrying. As it is designed, if you carry it with a single hand you must hold it from the side causing the speaker to tilt and whatever may be in the top tray may fall out. Another note: If you find your microphone doesn't work or has stopped working, double check the volume levels. Both the "Mic Volume" and the "Master Volume" will adjust the volume of the microphone. .............................. UPDATE: I love this product so much that I went ahead and purchased 4 more for other family members. They have been thrilled with theirs and each is working perfectly.
