Affordable and helps with deficiencies
Vitamin B1, thiamin, or thiamine, enables the body to use carbohydrates as energy. It is essential for glucose metabolism, and it plays a key role in nerve, muscle, and heart function. Apparently I'm deficient probably due to genetics, DAO, Mitochondria, and Ehrlos Danlos issues combined. I seem to have a lot of deficiencies regardless of how well I try to eat. These tablets are regular-sized tablets generally easy to swallow for most people. Without B1 and any other needed supplements, I just want to sleep all day. I have nasty short-term memory (think can't remember if I just went to the bathroom or ate - that bad), muscle weakness, not being able to stand long, doctors have trouble finding my heartbeat, blurry vision, poor concentration, and a few other symptoms listed below. Since your doctor isn't going to tell you everything, I am. It's a lousy life to lead with a vitamin deficiency. Typically, A deficiency of vitamin B1 commonly leads to beriberi, a condition that features problems with the peripheral nerves and wasting. Weight loss and anorexia can develop from loss of appetite. Apparently Thiamine/B1 controls the satiety center located in the hypothalamus of the brain. Your doctor won't tell you all this information so if you are struggling with overeating, check for B1 issues. There may be mental problems, like irritability, including confusion and short-term memory loss. Muscles may become weak, and cardiovascular symptoms can occur, for example, an enlarged heart. Slower than normal heartbeat can be a symptom of low thiamine. It can cause increased fatigue, dizziness and a greater risk of fainting. You can even become short of breath because of the less efficient heart. It's even known that people can have delirium, confusion, reduced awareness and the inability to think clearly. In severe cases, a deficiency can cause Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrom which involves two types of closely related brain damage. Symptoms include delirium, memory loss, confusion, and hallucinations. You might have reduced reflexes that might affect your coordination and ability to walk. Some people have abnormal tingling, prickling, burning or sensation of pins and needles in the upper or lower limbs called paresthesia. The peripheral nerves in those extremities rely heavily on the action of thiamine. There might be general muscle weakness that can be short-term or long-term if not treated. Blurry Vision and vision loss have been linked to severe thiamine deficiency. Some people have gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea or vomiting or abdominal pain. You don't need all the above symptoms. Some of them might come and go, probably according to what foods that you are eating. Oftentimes, Diabetes, alcohol, genetic, and drug abuse can cause a B1 deficiency.
