My 12 year old dog has been wearing paws for 12 years! These stay on and protect her feet from salt and ice. They keep our floors free of muddy paws. My dog has good grip with them on and no issues slipping unless, of course, it's a major ice storm with icy side walks in which case we all slip, but she does better than I do! We live in a condo, so she wears her Paws 4 times a day for daily winter walks. She is a Maltese-Schnauzer mix, 10 pounds and wears X-Small. Order big enough that they can be easily stretched with room for the toes. Never had an issue with her nails ripping the Pawz. She gets her nails filed about every 6 - 8 weeks. I put them on by holding her "belly up" in my lap so her feet stick up (after putting her jumper or sweater on) and give her a belly rub during the process. I open them wide and stick them on. If you have a big dog - I recommend the belly rub method. She has also traversed the Aspen Mountains many times on vacation with us wearing her Pawz. Simply dispose of them when get dirty or start to wear out. They are NOT balloons even though they look like them. Best doggie product ever!
