Excellent case
First, I like this case much better than the more expensive Apple iPad case. This case is sturdier and I can prop the iPad up to watch a video without having to worry about it collapsing, which are the main two reasons I bought it. The Apple brand case fails on both of these.
There is a molded slot where the Apple pencil charges and all the ports are easily accessible. The kickstand on the back is sturdy and lays flush against the case. There is also a pocket for the Apple pencil in the back, if you don't want to use the charging spot. You could put a regular pen/pencil there too I suppose, instead of an Apple pencil.
It's on the pricier side for cases, but I think it will be worth it. And it is way better and still cheaper than the Apple brand case.
There are only a couple minor things that would make it better for me:
- The cover flips around to lay flat against the back, so the iPad can lay open flat. That's all fine and good. But it has to be aligned in a certain position in order for the magnets to line up for it to stay there. If it becomes unaligned, it won't stay there and won't stick to the back, causing it to flap down until I put it back aligned. Not a huge deal, but it's easy to misalign it by handling it along the spine/hinge of the case. Maybe for the future, have a larger area for the magnets, or use a different material on the hinge so it's not so easily moved out of place?
- It would be nice to have the Apple pencil slot molded so the pencil can fit pointing up or down. It's currently molded to only fit pointing up, so won't fit if you try the other way. Again, a minor point, but would be a cool improvement.
Overall, I'd give this 4 1/2 stars, but I bumped it up to 5 for the review as it really is an excellent case.
